The scholarship winner for 2013/2014, Katelyn Privett, wowed HAA members at the September general membership meeting. She showed examples of her beautiful drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Katelyn’s boyfriend wore her signature item -- painted athletic shoes. Using a special paint developed specifically for use on leather, Katelyn designed and painted a super hero motif on her boyfriend’s shoes. Proudly sporting his “one of a kind” high tops, it was obvious that her talent was well appreciated.Katelyn expressed her gratitude to HAA for the scholarship. HAA was extremely pleased to know that the scholarship was awarded to such a talented young artist. Moreover, Katelyn touched the hearts of many members when she stated that her middle school art teacher was her inspiration for pursuing a career in art. Katelyn graduated from Harford Community College and is now pursuing a degree in Graphic Arts through the University of Maryland. HAA wishes her and her boyfriend all the best
